At the time of the transhumance there were shepherds who migrated from the mountains towards the Tuscan Maremma, in search of pastures for their flock ... These lands were a reference point for all those who, after a long journey, they wanted to stop and rest, trading hospitality for milk and cheese. We owe the name of the farm to these shepherds, since at the entrance there was a large gate that was recognized by everyone...

RESPECT AND TRADITIONS
Our vineyards are located in the mid-hills of Chianti, consisting mainly of clayey and alberese silt. Our oldest vines are made up of spurred cordon-trained plants planted in 1989, from which we produce our Black Swan. In addition to our 6 hectares of vineyards, we also cultivate all native species of the beautiful olive tree, such as Morellino, the Leccino, Frantoiano, Pendolino, Maurino, from which we produce our entirely organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

VINEYARDS AND OLIVE GROVES
A vineyard that rises on the back of a hill until it reaches the sky is a familiar sight, yet the simple and deep curtains of the rows appear to be a magical door. Under the vines the red earth is cleared, the leaves hide treasures, and beyond the leaves is the sky.
LINK WITH THE TERRITORY
We have always adopted organic farming respecting the land and the territory itself. Each bottle is made from hand-picked and selected grapes, with particular attention to each type of grape. Fermentation, in steel, takes place naturally, without adding yeasts. Our bottles come out only in the best years.
